HEADROW HOUSE may have launched last month but we’ve been waiting patiently for its new grill restaurant to open.
Now the wait is finally over as The Ox Club opens today at the former warehouse off The Headrow.
City Buzz has already had the chance to try the dishes and can say it’s well worth a visit.
It’s a new project from the team behind Belgrave Music Hall and chef Ben Davy, from Patty Smith’s Burger Co, Dough Boys Pizza and Fu-Schnikens.
After sell-out appearances at the Belgrave’s food festivals, the team wanted to open something more permanent.
The menu includes Yorkshire meat and fish cooked over wood and charcoal in a special Grillworks grill, which has been imported from the USA for the restaurant and is one of only three in the UK.
Dishes include small plates and mains, such as smoked ox cheek with bacon jam and scallops cooked on coals.
At weekends you can order from the brunch menu, with dishes such as hanger steak, cheddar eggs and fries or a corned beef and kale hash.
Ben said: “We’ve been testing out dishes and can’t wait for everyone to see what we can do.”
