CHRISTMAS shopping just got a lot easier thanks to a free one-off event in Leeds city centre.
Popular online marketplace Etsy will host a Christmas Market at Leeds City Museum on Sunday, December 6.
More than 35 local independent businesses will sell handmade items at the Etsy Made Local: Leeds Christmas Market, which runs from 11am to 4pm at the museum’s Brodrick Hall.
The event, which also includes workshops and talks, aims to showcase the best local creative talent, with a handpicked line-up of sellers selected from the Leeds area.
Louby Jelic, who runs Etsy store All Her Glory, said: “Etsy provides a great opportunity for shoppers to support local small businesses.
“Some are kitchen-table start-ups, many are one-person operations, but all of those selling at the Etsy Made Local: Leeds Christmas Market have been handpicked because of the quality of their products and range of items available.”
She added: “It’s even better for Etsy sellers to be able to meet customers face to face and for buyers to handle items and look at the craftsmanship up close. I can’t wait!”
