POLICE ARE hunting a vehicle believed to have been involved with a Christmas Eve shooting in Leeds.

A 25-year-old man was left with serious abdominal injuries which were consistent with gun shot wounds following an incident in Burley.

West Yorkshire Police launched an investigation on Wednesday after being notified by hospital staff. The man is now in a stable condition.

Officers are now appealing for information to trace a dark coloured vehicle which is believed to be connected to the shooting.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark McManus said: “An area on Thornville Road, close to the junction with Alexandra Road in Burley, Leeds was identified as a crime scene and sealed off while forensic officers conducted a search of the area.

“We know that two vehicles met at this location, near to the petrol station. Officers have recovered a white coloured Audi vehicle, but we are still keen to trace a dark or black coloured hatch-back car which we believe is connected to those involved in the shooting. The incident continues to be treated as a targeted attack.”
