A man has appeared in court charged with two sex offences in Leeds.

Lamin Touray, 35, of no fixed address, appeared was remanded in custody by Leeds magistrates today (Jan 31) charged with attempted rape, sexual assault and perverting the course of justice.

He is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on February 14.

The sex offence charges relate to alleged incidents in Leeds city centre on December 6 and 8.

Leeds has been identified as a child sexual exploitation hotspot, with vulnerable young people often with troubled backgrounds most at risk from being groomed online or targeted by gangs.
