A shopkeeper was punched in the face by robbers – before being attacked by their look-out as he tried to escape.

Police have released CCTV images of the men they want to trace following the incident at an off-licence in Beeston, Leeds.

Two men went into Beeston Wine Stores, in Beeston Road, and pretended to buy items before attacking the 35-year-old shopkeeper, punching him to the face and head.

He managed to run to the door and shout for help while the third man, who had been waiting outside, tried to get him back into the shop.

One of the men in the shop got behind the counter but failed to open the till. All three men then ran off empty-handed.

The victim suffered facial injuries in the attack, which happened at 12.05pm on Monday, February 3.

Anyone who recognises the men or who has any information should contact Detective Constable Phil Maher at Holbeck Police Station via 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
