Car smashes into wall in Leeds after reports of handgun sparks police chase

Police were called to Haworth Road, Bradford, shortly after 2pm yesterday (Sunday) to reports of what the caller believed to be a handgun in a car.
Armed officers were sent to the area but couldn't find the car.

Hide AdA short time later the car failed to stop for police in Leeds before crashing into a wall at the junction of Coal Hill Lane and Town Street in Rodley.
Officers found cannabis and an imitation handgun in the vehicle.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “At about 2.16pm yesterday (Sunday), police received a report of a passenger in a car in Haworth Road, Bradford with what the caller believed to be a handgun.
“Armed officers were deployed to the area and an extensive search was made for the vehicle to no gain.

Hide Ad“The vehicle failed to stop for officers in Leeds a short time later and crashed into a wall in Coal Hill Lane, Rodley.
“A quantity of cannabis was recovered from the vehicle, along with what was later found to be an imitation handgun.
“Five males arrested following the collision were later released under investigation for enquiries to continue.”
