West Yorkshire Police received a call about a damaged car in Guiseley on Tuesday morning.

After making initial checks, officers discovered it was "no ordinary vehicle", discovering expensive jewellery, registration plates, keys for other vehicles and burglar's tools inside.

The vehicle identification number had also been partially covered, so an officer from the Leeds North West policing team clambered inside and used some borrowed tweezers to remove the obstruction and reveal the fact the car was in fact stolen.

"The vehicle and all items have been seized and sent for forensic examination and the investigation continues", a spokesman for the team said.
