Call for witnesses to Middleton incident where woman was killed by reversing van

No witnesses have been identified so far, despite West Yorkshire Police's efforts.

It happened at around 5.30pm on Monday November 4 on New Forest Way, when a reversing silver Vauxhall Vivaro van hit Kathleen Bichard, from Middleton.

The 75-year-old was taken to hospital but later died.

PC Mark Turner, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “We appreciate that it has now been some time since this collision but are asking people to cast their minds back and think about whether they may have seen the van or Ms Bichard immediately prior to this collision.

“It is important for those involved in this collision and their families that we do all we can to establish the circumstances of what has taken place.”
