Burglary at West Yorkshire Mosque as thieves steal cash from safe

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Mosque was burgled in West Yorkshire.

Suspects broke into the Mosque on Eagle Street, Todmorden, sometime between 11pm on Friday January 22 and 12.30am Saturday January 23, police said.

Suspects made off with cash from the safe at the Mosque.

A black or dark coloured three door hatchback was seen in the area at the time of the offence.

It was then seen travelling along Stansfield Road, White Platts Street and Joshua Street around that time.

Enquiries are ongoing, police confirmed.

Inspector Ben Doughty of Calderdale Valley’s Neighbourhood Policing Team said: ‘We are carrying out enquiries into this burglary through CCTV and house to house.

‘I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious on Eagle Street or a dark coloured vehicle on the night of Friday January 22 to get in touch and help us with the appeal.’
