Bradley Gledhill stabbing: 17-year-old boy pleads not guilty to murder and denies killing two others over incident in Batley

The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be identified, appeared before Leeds Crown Court for a plea hearing yesterday (January 6) over the death of 20-year-old Bradley Gledhill

Mr Gledhill was stabbed on Park Croft in Batley at around 10.30pm on Sunday, June 21 last year.

He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Two other males also suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries that night.

The 17-year-old, who is from Batley, pleaded not guilty to murder and two offences of attempted murder

He will go on trial with five others on April 12 this year.

Five people - four men and a youth - have already appeared in the Crown court accused of the same charges.

Usman Karolia, 19, of Lime Tree Avenue, Batley, Ahmed Karolia, 23, of Lime Tree Avenue, Batley and Raja Nawaz, 18, of Longfield Road, Heckmondwike, have denied the charges.Another 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old boy from Dewsbury are also due to go on trial facing the same charges.

The trial is expected to last six weeks.

The defendant was returned to custody after the hearing.

He will next appear before the court via a video link from Wetherby Young Offender Institution for a pre-trial review hearing on March 29.
