Arrest after North Leeds driver with knife in car fails cocaine drug test

A driver in North Leeds has been arrested after failing a drug test and possessing an offensive weapon.

The vehicle was stopped and searched on Spen Lane in the LS16 area of North Leeds.

The driver was drug tested which showed him to be under the influence of cocaine.

He also had a knife in the driver's door pocket.

He was arrested for exceeding the drug driving limit for cocaine and for possessing an offensive weapon.

West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit tweeted: "Spen Lane, Leeds- Vehicle stopped and subject of a search.

"Driver was subject of a Drugswipe and the test showed he was OPL on Cocaine.

"Driver arrested for OPL and possess offensive weapon as a knife was located in the drivers door pocket. #StaySafe #Team4 #Fatal4 @WYP_OpJemlock."
