Armed police deployed to East End Park as incident believed to be a hoax

Armed police were deployed to the East End Park area of Leeds on Sunday - in an incident now believed to be a hoax.

At around 2.20pm, police received a report of a disturbance at a house in Raincliffe Terrace involving a man seen with a handgun.

Armed officers found no evidence of any such incident.

Police believe this was a hoax call and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 2.23pm yesterday, police received a report of a disturbance at an address in Raincliffe Terrace, East End Park, involving a man seen with a handgun.

"Armed officers were deployed to the scene and found no evidence of any such incident.

"It is believed to have been a hoax call and enquiries are ongoing."
