Armed police called to Leeds city centre to report of three males with 'large knife'

Police received the report at 2.30pm and officers were deployed to Skinner Lane, off Regent Street.

An eyewitness said armed officers arrived at the scene in four marked police cars and one unmarked police vehcile.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed officers searched the area, but no weapon was found.

A police spokesman said: "At 2.31pm we received a report of three males in possession of a large knife.

"Officers were deployed to undertake an area search, which proved negative.

"No further reports were received."
