Air ambulance lands in Leeds street as 22-year-old taken to hospital after bike crash

An air ambulance landed in a Leeds street on Tuesday after a crash between a bike and a car.

Police were contacted by the ambulance service at about 11.35am on Tuesday after a crash between a motorbike and a Ford Kuga at the junction of Tong Road and Butt Lane in Farnley.

The 22-year-old bike rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but they were not believed to be life threatening.

A road closure was put in place while emergency services dealt with the smash.

A police spokesman said: "At 11:35am today (19/5) police were contacted by the ambulance service who were attending a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a Ford Kuga at the junction of Tong Road and Butt Lane, Farnley.

"The rider of the motorbike, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.

"A road closure was put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident."
