Abandoned and uninsured car with cannabis inside seized by police near White Rose Shopping Centre

A car which had been abandoned, was uninsured, and had cannabis inside has been seized by police near the White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds.

The Volkswagen golf had been left abandoned on the roundabout on Dewsbury Road in Leeds.

It was left in a dangerous and obstructive place for other road users.

The uninsured blue vehicle, and the small amount of cannabis located inside, were seized by police officers from Morley Neighbourhood Policing Team.

A post on the West Yorkshire Police - Leeds South Facebook page said: "*** Vehicle Seized ***

"Last night officers from Morley NPT came across this vehicle which had been left abandoned on the roundabout on Dewsbury Road close to The White Rose Shopping Centre. The vehicle was left in a dangerous place and causing obstruction to other road users.

"Officers at the scene managed to push the vehicle off the road into a safe place to ensure other road users were not put in danger.

"After further enquiries the vehicle was showing having no insurance and a small amount of cannabis was located within the vehicle which was also seized.

"Enquires are currently ongoing."
