500 cannabis bags seized in six Harehills police raids with 9 arrests

Police in Harehills in Leeds have made nine arrests after seizing 500 cannabis bags across six raids in December.

Police have also had a property closed by the courts.

Harehills Neighbourhood Policing Team have over the last month executed six warrants resulting in approximately 500 bags of Cannabis and an estimated £3,000 in money being siezed.

A total of 9 arrests have been made so far for Possession with Intent to Supply and assets have been seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Along with this applications have been made to the Courts for Closure Orders to be placed on a number of properties.

One of these orders to date has been granted and the property is now closed.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "The Harehills Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to gather intelligence and act on that information recieved to tackle all the issues in order to provide a Safer Community for those who reside and work in the area."
