Homage2Fromage, a monthly cheese club that was founded in the city before expanding across the north, is returning home.

The theme for next Thursday’s cheese night is cow free cheese so the night and the tastebuds will be dedicated to goat and sheep cheese which is milking the interest in the industry at the moment.

The club says it is not about “snobby cheese and wine-tastings” it is about enjoying cheese among like minded people in a simple and relaxed way, while learning about cheese-making aswell.

Speaking about Thursday night’s event, the club said: “After receiving a fascinating array of suggestions we have decided to go for the very popular choice of cow-free cheese.

“Goat and sheep cheese is some of the finest in the world, steeped in tradition but also very much a part of the innovation taking place in cheese today.

“A lovely selection awaits – soft, hard, subtle and full-on – we have really gone to town this time… All without so much as a teeny tiny moo…”

After tucking in and trying the cheese with chutney and crackers there is a small presentation about each cheese.

The events is at The Adelphi on Dock Street from 7pm sharp.

There are 85 tickets available and they can be obtained from the Homage2Fromage website.

If you can’t make this one there is another goat and sheep cheese tasting at The Mill Kitchen on Town Street in Farsley on September 15.
