Corporate run fundraisers receive trophies

YORKSHIRE’s speediest sprinters from the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10K Clarion Corporate Challenge have received their prizes at a ceremony in Leeds.

The runners from the corporate competition, held on July 8, received trophies from Jane’s husband Mike Tomlinson and Roger Hutton from sponsors Clarion Solicitors at the company’s Leeds office.

More than 50 teams of business professionals from around the county took part.

Representatives from the top three corporate teams attended the prize-giving together with the fastest male runner, Kevin Hoult, 37, of Sagars.

He completed the 6.2 mile challenge in just 36 minutes.

Chloe Ryall, 29, from the sports and leisure organisation HASSRA, was the fastest female in both the 10k run and corporate event, completing the race in 40 minutes.

HASSRA, which has 12 regional groups around the UK, was named overall corporate winner.

Their first team achieved a collective time of just less than two hours, whilst their fifth team came second in two hours and four minutes.

Begbies Traynor’s first team made third place.

Roger Hutton said: “We would like to thank everyone that took part. The day was a great success and the atmosphere as always was electric.

“There is no other event that brings together such a diverse range of Yorkshire businesses from professional services and media, to engineering and the health sector.”

Event director Sara Birkinshawsaid: “We had another fantastic Corporate Challenge which saw camaraderie at its best.

“It’s always so great to see colleagues pulling together, spurring each other on and helping them complete this tough challenge,” she added.
