A man whose disappearance a week ago has been described as “out of character” may be in Leeds.

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of 47-year-old Anthony Brown, who was last seen by a family member in the Darton, Barnsley, last Monday morning.

Officers believe he could have travelled to Pudsey, West Yorkshire, in his silver Mazda 3.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “It is out of character for Mr Brown to go missing and police are keen to ensure he is safe and well.”

He is about 5ft 9ins tall and slim, with shaved hair and sometimes wears glasses.

He was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a denim-coloured checked shirt, a navy blue cable-knit cardigan and a pair of beige-coloured boots.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
