A star of a cult classic will headline guests joining fans at a comic convention.
Patricia Quinn, who played the iconic ‘Magenta’ in the 1975 musical film, ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’, will top the bill at Castleford Comic Con.
Hugh Spight, from ‘Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi’, and Martin Ballantyne, who appeared in the 2008 Batman film, ‘The Dark Knight’, will also join the event at Castleford Civic Centre on July 22.
Guests will take part in on-stage interviews and will be selling autographs, posing for selfies and chatting to their fans about their vast experiences both on and off screen.
Castleford Comic Con organiser Natalie Gosney said: “Patricia Quinn is very popular. We know she will go down well with all the fans.
“You do not get too many Rocky Horror guests at comic conventions so we think it will be different, a little bit special. We thought it would give people something out of the ordinary.
“We have some outdoor attractions too. We have a couple of USA police cars and there will be a 30ft tall Mr Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. There are lots of indoor and outdoor attractions for all ages.”
Visitors to the event can enjoy displays such as a huge smoke-breathing animatronic dragon, multiple Dalek replicas and a ‘Star Wars’ scene. Other attractions include a life-sized Bat Signal, Bat Pod and Batman statue.
On-stage entertainment includes lightsaber training classes, costume competitions and a talk from the South Yorkshire Amateur Paranormal Society.
And gaming fans can enjoy a virtual reality (VR) and PlayStation 4 suite with a huge range of games including big screen tournaments.
