City Buzz: X Factor stars to perform in Leeds in aid of local hospice

The X Factor seems like a distant memory now.

But as some of the stars prepare for the show’s tour at Leeds arena in a couple of weeks, another contestant is tuning up for a performance on the other side of town.

Former X Factor contestant Tom Bleasby will step on stage in his hometown of Leeds for a special concert to raise money for a local hospice.

Tom, 19, reached the judges houses round last year but left for personal reasons.

Since the competition, he has performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in America and got the chance to sing a live duet with his idol Jessie J.

He also performed at several Christmas light switch-ons around the country last year and sang at the recent Yorkshire Flood Aid event.

A video of Tom’s singing went viral before he appeared on The X Factor, gaining more than 15m views for his impressive vocals.

Now the singer is hosting ‘An Evening with Tom Bleasby’ to raise money for St Gemma’s Hospice.

The hospice, based in Moortown, provides care for people with life-threatening illnesses.

For his upcoming gig, he will be joined by fellow contestant Kiera Weathers at Holy Trinity Church on Boar Lane on Friday, March 4.

The concert starts at 7pm and tickets cost around £25, with different VIP packages available.
