City Buzz: New pop-up gin bar set to join Lower Briggate, Leeds

A WHISKEY parlour in Leeds city centre is going to close its doors as the venue gets transformed into a new gin joint.

The Liquor Store and Whisky Parlour, which has proved hugely popular since opening last year, is getting a complete makeover to become Old Tom’s Gin Kitchen.

The Hedonist Project is the team behind the venue, and will change the theme every few months.

Tom Finnon, drinks director, said: “We’re really excited about the possibilities the versatility of gin opens up.”

The cosy Scottish decor will be replaced with a lighter, fresher vibe.

New lighting, music and uniforms have all been planned and the drinks list will get a major overhaul.

There will be a range of unusual and premium gins, as well as gin-based cocktails and unique takes on gin and tonic.

The food menu will include dishes such as juniper-cured salmon, lamb cutlets with sautéed greens, and sandwiches, soups and salads.

The new gin joint will open its doors on March 30.
