City Buzz: New craft beer and cocktail bar to open at Leeds city centre's oldest pub

Whitelock’s at Turk’s Head Yard, just off Briggate, is turning its function room into a craft beer, spirit and cocktail bar.

The 300-year-old pub’s function room has had various work carried out on it since the current owners took over in 2012.

But it will be completely transformed thanks to Leeds-based company Lord Whitney, which is helping design the space.

The duo, made up of Leeds Beckett University graduates Amy Lord and Rebekah Whitney, has become known for cool and quirky designs.

The art direction and design company has even worked with the likes of Nicki Minaj and Will Young, and was also behind the magical underground woodland at Leeds Town Hall last year as part of the Wood Beneath the World event.

It’s sure to be an interesting mix of old and new, and we’re excited to see what’s in store.

The venue is due to open to the public on Saturday, January 30, but keep your eyes peeled as City Buzz will have a sneak peek of the venue next week.
