But a new drink is about to mix things up and could be a recipe for success.

Tapas restaurant Pintura has created its very own gin.

The restaurant, which has its own gin bar, is offering the new tipple to customers and gin enthusiasts to mark its first birthday.

It will be the 100th gin to be added to the bar’s ever-expanding gin menu.

Cien, meaning ‘100’ will include a mix of Yorkshire and Spanish flavours, including Yorkshire honey, Yorkshire Gold tea, tomato and lemon.

Pintura’s bar manager Matthew Coates has designed and distilled the gin, which features a piece of artwork by artist Victoria Topping on each bottle.

Matthew said: “We’re really excited to launch ‘Cien’ at Pintura.

“We’ve seen a growing demand for different varieties of the spirit from customers that come in to visit us in our restaurant and the gin bar, so it’s great to be able to use our expertise to tap into this rapidly expanding market.

“Britain and Spain are two of the world’s biggest consumers of gin and it’s brilliant to be able to marry the two nations together with our Yorkshire/Spanish blend.

“We’ve taken local ingredients from Yorkshire that complement the best Basque flavours for the 100th gin to be served in our bar.”

The bar serves more than 50 litres of their signature gin every month, so it’s likely this new addition to the menu will prove a hit when it launches on March 4.
