City Buzz: Is this the latest trend to hit Leeds?

When bubble tea became the latest fad in London, it wasn't long until it arrived in Leeds.

It was hard to believe the milky Taiwanese drink made with tapioca balls would appeal, but almost every week there was a dedicated bubble tea venue popping up in the city centre, from the Merrion Centre to Trinity Leeds.

And now a new trend is making its way up north.

Gaucho on Park Row is offering a new ‘bottomless brunch’ menu.

In case you haven’t heard of it, bottomless brunches tend to offer diners the chance to enjoy as much bubbly as they like until they finish their meal.

Gaucho’s Electric Brunch runs from 11am to 3pm on Saturdays and is an all-inclusive menu with dishes such as eggs Benedict, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and banana pancakes.

The endless drinks menu includes sparkling Domaine Chandon, Bloody Mary cocktails, a fresh juice bar with 20 fruits and vegetables, and a breakfast cocktail that changes weekly. There will also be music from top Leeds DJs.

At £45 per person it’s not cheap but for some people it may be easier to stomach than the bubble tea fad.
