SCHOOLGIRL Charlotte Holliday's festive flair has seen her win a competition to design a Christmas card for a local MP.

Fabian Hamilton, Labour MP for Leeds North East, asked pupils at schools in his constituency to come up with a design for his official card.

And after pouring through scores of entries, Cardinal Heenan High pupil Charlotte's colourful snowman-themed effort was chosen as the winner.

Entries flooded in from more than 100 pupils in ten of the constituency's schools and entries were judged by David Lascelles and Diane Howse of Harewood House.

Mr Hamilton said, "It was very encouraging to see the way that pupils rose to the challenge of the idea at such a busy time."
