Cas Tigers star thanks fans for support after twin sons born 14 weeks prematurely

A club spokeswoman said the two boys, Noah and Oliver, are in a critical condition in intensive care at hospitals in Liverpool and Burnley.

Tigers fans chanted their support for the Jewitt family at the club’s home game V St Helen’s last Thursday.

Lee and Rebecca Jewitt, who also have a son, Oscar, and a daughter, Isobella, have expressed their gratitude.

Lee Jewitt said: “My wife Rebecca and I cannot thank the Castleford Tigers family enough for all the support we are receiving. We are just a normal family who’ve been chosen to face this fight in our lives, but having you all right behind us is providing a great support to us.

“Isobella and Oscar really enjoyed the game on Thursday night and we are so grateful for the 14th minute applause. This is something I will never forget. Castleford Tigers is not just where I work, it is part of my family. I’d like to personally thank Powelly and the board for all their support and of course my team mates, the boys have been in touch with me all personally every day offering their support. Once again thank you all and please keep praying for Noah and Oliver.”

Noah and Oliver underwent blood transfusions at just one-week-old.

Castleford Tigers players, coaches staff, directors, and their families were today due to gather at The Mend-A-Hose Jungle stadium to sign up as blood donors.
