A YORKSHIRE renewable energy business won a national award for work to create a green electricity system at a public convenience at the Fisher Street toilets in Knaresborough. The work Clean Energy (Yorkshire) undertook has been recognised by the British Toilet Association, which has named the amenities Best Eco Friendly Facilities in the Loo of the Year Awards.
AN international award has been collected by a Liversedge businessman whose company has developed a new carbon monoxide and combustible gas detection system for residential properties. The innovation award was collected by Simon Simpson, commercial director of Flowtech Controls, at the annual Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Awards in London.
THREE students from Leeds Metropolitan University have been recognised in the bursary scheme supported by West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants (WYSCA). Michael Freedman, immediate past president of WYSCA, presented the award for the best overall performance on the second year of the BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance course to Daniel Atherton. The award for the most outstanding student on the first year on the course was shared between Swi Pang and Lloyd Stallebrass who shared the top grade.
