Thurston buys marine container company

A WEST Yorkshire business has been spending to broaden its range of products.

Wakefield-based Thurston Building Systems has bought Yorkshire Marine Containers, of Brandesburton, near Driffield.

Thurston’s chief executive, Jonathan Petch, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for Thurston to broaden our range of products for existing customers while expanding into new markets.

“We welcome YMCL’s experienced management team and highly skilled workforce. We intend to build on the already excellent quality of the products by expanding and developing the operation and adding new product lines.

“Our continued success during the current global downturn is due to excellent financial management, a committed and skilled workforce, and an ability to provide customers with exactly what they want within today’s often-constrained budgets. We are very much looking forward to working with everyone at YMCL and anticipate they will provide an outstanding contribution to the future success of our combined group.” Yorkshire Marine Containers is well-known for marine container production.
