Businesses in Leeds are being offered the chance to support their local bonfire and firework display this year.
Leeds City Council is asking business owners to sponsor one of the city’s six popular bonfire celebrations on November 5.
Around 200,000 people visit the council-run displays across Leeds which are held annually at Roundhay Park, East End Park, Woodhouse Moor, Middleton Park, Bramley Park and Springhead Park in Rothwell.
Coun Debra Coupar, the counci’s executive member for communities, said: “There really is nowhere better to experience the magic of bonfire night than at one of the six public events we hold in Leeds each year, and we would be delighted to discuss with businesses how they might support the bonfire and fireworks displays through sponsorship.
“A variety of sponsorship packages are available, and with thousands of visitors attending all of our bonfires this is a really great way to publicise your business to people of all ages.
“We already have a very successful partnership with the White Rose Shopping Centre who has sponsored the Middleton Park bonfire for several years now, and we are looking for other community-minded businesses to support the bonfires in other areas of the city.”
Bonfire sponsorship packages also include promotional and advertising opportunities.
Roundhay Park hosts the city’s largest Bonfire Night display and around 70,000 visitors flock to the venue every year.
The celebration, which takes place on the park’s Soldiers Field, features a stunning firework display and a 12-metre-high bonfire.
Each of the other five venues across Leeds attracts around 25,000 visitors each year.
