Nominate your favourite new building scheme for a major honour

LOCAL people are being asked by RICS – the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – to nominate their favourite new building scheme in Yorkshire and the Humber for a top award.

The organisation, which represents more than 7,000 chartered surveyors, runs the RICS Pro-Yorkshire Awards every year and is now looking for entries into the 2011 competition.

Colin Harrop, RICS regional chair, said: "This gives members of the public the chance to make their choices known but it has to be a regeneration project, a new building or an environmental project that has been completed within the last three years."

All suggestions should be sent to Catherine Hible, business development manager at RICS North, on

She can also be contacted by telephone on 01924 229302.

The closing date for final entries to the competition is January 21.
