The Lord Mayor of Leeds has officially opened a new training institution to help spur economic growth for local businesses

Pitman Training, based at Number 1 City Square, is offering free CV and skills workshops for those looking to upskill, advance in their career or return to work.

The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Coun David Congreve, said: “Training is very important and I think the sad thing is, often, if things are tight within a company, they cut back on training and they should be very careful about doing that.

“I think quality training companies are a necessity and it all enhances the city experience and helps the commerce and the economy of the city - not only Leeds, but as you get clients from all over West Yorkshire, as we are a city region, it’s going to benefit the entire region.”
