Inside look at ballet theatre for directors

The Institute of Directors' (IoD) Young Directors' Forum is teaming up with Northern Ballet to host an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit at its new premises in Leeds.

Attendees will take part in a networking event hosted by Northern Ballet's artistic director David Nixon OBE, who will present a preview of his new production, Cleopatra.

David will discuss what inspired him to make a ballet based on the life of one of history's most powerful women and describe the business and artistic challenges associated with a new production.

Janet Myers, corporate development manager at Northern Ballet, said: "The business and arts worlds both have so much they can learn from each other. The arts is a business, and like any other we have to generate income, create opportunities and develop partnerships.

"We hope our unique new building, and a look at the activities that take place inside it, will inspire our guests from the IoD."

The event will take place at Northern Ballet, Quarry Hill, from 5pm to 6.30pm on February 2.
