City engineers take the top two prizes

TWO Leeds engineers working for green services provider Eaga have been ranked the best in the UK.

Colin Eades and Steve Riley, both from the city, won first and second place respectively in the operatives' category in The Benchmarking & Service Provider Award for Excellence Scheme for their competency and skill as gas engineers.

Colin was presented with the Gold Trophy Award and a 1,000 voucher and Steve received the Silver Trophy and 500.

Eaga, based in Gosforth but operating across the UK, also won the Gold Award in the Service Provider category for its work in servicing heating systems for social housing residents.

Stephen Tatler, Eaga's regional manager for the North, said: "We are thrilled to have won these awards and extremely proud of our staff.

"Special congratulations must also go to Colin and Steve here in Leeds.

"Their commitment and expertise as gas engineers has been recognised at the highest level."
