Best China: For a guided tour ... try Harrogate

A SMALL independent travel agency in Harrogate has proved it's up there with the best when it comes to unravelling the mysteries of the Orient.

Mike Langford of Bower Road's Langford Travel scored highest in a "mystery shopper" survey carried out by Travel Weekly – the travel industry's leading online resource.

Undercover customers called at a number of agents in the area, looking for an all-inclusive guided tour of China as part of the clandestine research to identify and reward good customer service.

Langford Travel was judged to have done the best job, scoring a total of 96 per cent.

"Obviously, I'm thrilled the survey turned out so well for us, particularly as we were up against some big high street names," said Mr Langford. "It's reassuring to know we got it right this time but there will be no resting on our laurels."
