STUDENTS were given an insight into the construction industry during a special event.

CITB-ConstructionSkills invited the young people from Tong High School, Priesthope School and Morley Academy to Incommunities at Dudley Hill in Bradford to find out about apprenticeships.

The pupils toured the site and met construction ambassadors from Bramall Construction.

They also, as our pictures show, got the chance to try their hand at trades such as bricklaying and joinery.

Lynne Allison, construction careers adviser at CITB-ConstructionSkills in West and North Yorkshire, said: “This event aimed to inspire students to consider careers in construction and we’re really pleased with the success of the event.”

Delroy Beverley, Incommunities – Propertysolutions director, said: “Our staff and apprentices enjoyed giving the students a practical insight into working in construction.”
