BUS company First has pulled out all the stops to help Leeds (West) Foodbank.

The firm has donated £1,000 to the foodbank and First staff stepped in to help with a food collection event for the charity at Asda in Pudsey.

The Leeds (West) Foodbank, which is run by a partnership of churches led by The Oak Church in Farsley, relies on donations of food and money to help feed local people in crisis.

Foodbank co-ordinator Angela Softley, said: “We rely on volunteers and the support of local business such as First and Asda. The donation by First will go a long way to helping feed local people in crisis.”
