First is reviewing various routes in the North West areas of the city and is inviting people to attend consultation events or to complete an online survey.

The operator says it has recognised that the 1, 6, 19, 19A, 28, 29, 56, 97 and X84 services need to be improved.

Paul Turner, head of commercial at First Leeds, said: “Our bus services in North West Leeds are very well used and have remained unchanged for some time, but some routes are suffering from increasing road congestion.

“We need to consider new timetables from September and as part of this we want to hear the views of our customers so we can ensure buses still go where people need them to.

“We haven’t made any decisions yet and so we’d urge as many people as possible to get involved. I’m sure there will be new ideas and suggestions that we may not have considered or explored.”

The consultation period has already started and will last until Sunday, April 2.

Representatives from the bus company will attend the consultation events.

Afterwards, First Leeds will submit a plan to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
