Bullied Leeds schoolboy offered trip to fire station as a birthday present

And now a young Leeds boy has been offered a dream present for his upcoming ninth birthday.

Chris Hope-Smith sent out on a request for messages on Twitter after another boy told his son Ollie that his birthday party wouldn't be as good as his.Celebrities including Hollywood actor Russell Crowe, radio DJ Sara Cox, astronaut Tim Peake, rapper Stormzy and comedian Jason Manford responded to wish Ollie many happy returns.

And now his special day on July 5 will be even better after West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service offered Ollie the chance to visit a fire station.

Deputy chief fire officer Dave Walton and a group of firefighters posted a video on Twitter inviting him to meet them.

Dad Chris, 41, has admitted to being overwhelmed by the response from well-wishers around the world, but is keen that the bullies are not identified on social media, as they are a similar age to Ollie and his sister Poppy.

His original Tweet has now been re-Tweeted over 14,000 times.
