Breaking: Man dies after being found unconscious outside block of flats in Leeds

A man has died after being found unconscious by officers outside a block of flats in Leeds.

Police say they are treating the man's death as "unexplained" after they were called to Whingate Mill, Armley, following reports of concern for his safety.

When officers arrived at 10.20pm last night (Thursday), they found the man unconscious and seriously injured.

Paramedics attended the scene but the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead a short time later.

Detective Inspector Richard Holmes, of Leeds CID, said: "Our enquiries remain ongoing but we are currently treating this death as unexplained.

"The victim's family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

"A scene remains in place at this time".

Crime scene officers are now at the scene in Armley this morning and a cordon is in place.
