A former shop in the New Wortley area of Leeds has been destroyed by a fire which broke out overnight.

Four fire crews from Leeds and Hunslet stations, plus specialist officers were called out to tackle the fire just after midnight today.

Two firefighters donned breathing apparatus and a hose reel and a jet was used to put out flames which had engulfed 50 per cent of the old Wellington Stores at Holdforth Place, New Wortley,
