Running from 2pm to 6pm in the ‘bunker’ at Mission, it will feature a melting pot of music and entertainment designed to engage with members and supporters of the black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) LGBT communities. Organiser Jordan Small said: “We want to make the Leeds BAME community feel fully included in the LGBT scene, so we are arranging a good party.

“We’ll be playing R and B, a bit of bhangra - from ‘Barsi Barsi’ to Beyonce. It will be areal eclectic mix, like the UK itself! We are all a little bit of everything and we are all together.”

“It’s the first time anything like this has taken place in Leeds,” he added.

“Hopefully this will encourage those people who have not had prior engagement to come along and feel safe in doing so. We want people to feel comfortable and included.“

The afternoon will also serve as a preamble to a bigger dance party at the club.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Leeds Pride, which now attracts up 35,000 people for the Sunday parade from Millennium Square.
