The best life is terrace life - Leeds is living it up

So, it took a bit of time, but the sun has finally shown his face in Leeds, which means only one thing; break out the fruity shirts and hit the terrace.

In five years, Leeds has really flourished when it comes to al-fresco drinking spots, and terrace hopping in the city is most definitely a thing now.

One of the first places I’ll be heading is Issho. The Japanese restaurant is celebrating the warmer weather in style, having just undergone a spring makeover. Opening next weekend, their Sakura Secret Garden has been blessed with cherry blossoms, making it an essential spot for sipping Sake infused cocktails and if you get peckish try my favourite Teriyaki Salmon, Miso Black Cod and legendary Bao buns.

Over in Brewery Wharf, Oracle Bar is prepped for a summer of outdoor lounging, and celebrating its 13th year of being Leeds’ premier riverside watering hole. I dare say I’ll be lunching there regularly over summer, as their Bocca Italian street food is still unbeatable and if you love a bottomless brunch they’re kinda generous if you know what I mean!

Another favourite that’s undergone a terrace makeover is Angelicas. They’ll be showing it off with another summer of takeovers by Café Del Mar. Little Dragon are set to open the Ibiza Takeover season in style on Sunday May 21 and if, like me, you love a cocktail try Ginger Spice (yes I tried it as it’s named after my second favourite Spice Girl).

Last but not least, Headrow House are doing it for the Leeds hipster massive with their huge outdoor roof terrace, the perfect place to bring your motley crew for some craft beer shenanigans. See you in the sunshine….
