A YORKSHIRE beauty queen has swapped her makeup for mud to launch Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life Pretty Muddy events across the county.

Hannah Bennett, Miss Yorkshire International, is fighting back against the disease that killed her aunt and two grandparents, by taking part in the 5k challenge and urging other women to do the same.

The Leeds race will take place at Temple Newsam on Saturday May 30. The charity’s spokesperson described it as: “A 5k muddy obstacle course where women of any ability can climb, jog and walk all over cancer.” Go to raceforlife.org or call 0300 123 0770.
