Be Curious Festival: It's all about the appliance of science in Leeds

The first Be Curious festival, which is part of the month-long Leeds Festival of Science, gave visitors the chance to learn more about how their bodies work at Leeds University.

Visitors were able to have their faces scanned from a 3D machine, learn more about how joint replacements work as well as being given the chance to look at cheek cells in a mini lab experience.

There were also talks on the medicine and treatments used during the First World War and how language develops in children.

The Leeds Festival of Science, which has been staged across various venues, runs until Wednesday.
