Villagers are putting the icing on the cake in preparation for The Great Bramham Bake Off.

Inspired by the television show baking fever will hit Bramham Village Hall on September 26.

The competition, which is open to both adults and children, will be judged by Gemma

Pickup and Danni Greig, crafts people from the legendary Bettys Bakery in Harrogate which supplies freshly baked produce to all their tea rooms and shops across Yorkshire.

Event organiser Gerry Taylor said: “I have fond memories of my mother entering baking competitions when I was growing up in Cornwall and I think the Bramham Bake Off will be a lovely opportunity to bring the community together.”

Following the judging, at around 2pm, the hall will be open to the public to view the entries, enjoy a cup of tea and buy cakes to take home.
