Awards for unsung Leeds army heroes

An army reservist and two volunteer cadet leaders have been honoured by the county's Lord Lieutenant for outstanding service.

Part-time soldier and forensic scientist Stacie Duchemin from Belle Isle and cadet volunteers Greg Potter from Alwoodley, who works in marketing, and Paras veteran Terry Yates, from Morley, were given the Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate, one of the highest accolades in the armed forces, at Carlton Barracks.

“It was such an honour to even be recommended, and having received it I’m just bursting with pride.

“I feel this is an award
not only for me, but for
every soldier,” said Stacie Duchemin.
