A HEALTH service hero has been recognised by an awards scheme set up in the name of terminally-ill cancer patient and doctor Kate Granger.
The individual winner in this year’s Kate Granger Awards was yesterday announced as Lydia Jackson, a healthcare assistant at the Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Other winners included a Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust initiative that helps young patients learn about blood testing.
Kate, who works at the Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “I am incredibly proud of the legacy the Kate Granger Awards will create towards celebrating a culture of outstanding compassionate care. This year’s winners all demonstrate amazing attributes individually but with one central figure of a truly person–centred approach to care.”
