A teenager was taken to hospital after suffering a punctured lung when he was stabbed during an incident in the Moortown area of Leeds last night.

Police were called to Cranmer Bank Shops just before 8pm after receiving a report from paramedics that a man had been stabbed.

The stabbing victim, a 19-year-old local man, was found outside the shops.

Insp David Glover, of West Yorkshire Police, said the teenager was taken to St James’s Hospital where he is in a stable condition and is being treated for a punctured lung.

Insp Glover said one person was arrested nearby in connection with the incident and was tonight being quizzed by detectives.

Anyone with information is asked to call Leeds CID on 101.
