Appeal after teenager struck by car

A teenager was left in a critical condition after she was hit by a car in Leeds.

The 18-year-old was struck by a silver Skoda Octavia as she crossed from the central reservation on the pedestrian crossing on Dewsbury Road, near Meadow Lane.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident on Friday at around 8pm.

The teenager suffered a serious leg and a serious facial injury and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

It is believed that the vehicle was heading out of Leeds from Meadow Lane.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or the car or pedestrian shortly beforehand.
